At Ridgeline Construction Group, our success is built on the talent, dedication, and hard work of our team. This month, we are proud to highlight an incredible milestone for Superintendent and Project Manager Justin Campbell, who has been with us for over 13 years.
Justin’s leadership in the field and his commitment to craftsmanship have left a lasting mark on Ridgeline. We spoke with him about his journey, what fuels his passion for building, and how Ridgeline’s values continue to shape his work every day.
A Lifelong Passion for Building
Justin’s connection to construction began early. “I have been in and around construction all my life,” he shared. “My dad worked in construction and built homes for a long time, so I grew up in it.”
After earning a degree in construction science and management from Clemson University, Justin explored commercial work for a time. But when Ray Foral offered him the chance to join Ridgeline, it felt like the right move. “Ray offered me an opportunity to come back home, and I took it. I have been here ever since.”
Finding His Strength on the Jobsite
When Justin started with Ridgeline, his role was primarily in the office. “Ray hired me as a project manager, and I spent about a year and a half in that position,” he said. “Through some changes in the company, there was a need in the field, and Ray realized my skillset was better suited there. I have been in the field now for at least 11 years.”
Today, Justin is cross-trained to handle both management and field responsibilities, giving him a well-rounded understanding of each phase of construction. “Being in the field is where everything happens,” he said. “It is where all the planning, meetings, and discussions come together.”
Leading With Purpose & High Standards
For Justin, Ridgeline’s approach to building goes far beyond technical skill. “Ray and Terry instill in us that everything we do should be personal,” he said. “We manage a client as if it is a relationship, not just a job. And we build every home as if it were our own.”
Those values guide his decisions every day. “We set a very high standard. Anything less is unacceptable,” Justin said. “We are always trying to achieve better and do more. Over the years, Ray and Terry have mentored me, and that has helped me grow a lot since day one.”
The Projects That Pushed Him Forward
One milestone stands out as a turning point in Justin’s career. “Four or five years ago, I did two six-million-dollar houses at the same time,” he said. “They were very detailed and intricate, and that amount of responsibility, detail, and pressure pushed me to grow. It allowed Ray and Terry to trust me more because the outcomes were good and the clients had a great experience.”
Since then, Justin has taken on larger and more complex projects, helping shape the direction of Ridgeline’s work and mentoring others along the way. “We have evolved in how we manage quality and our processes,” he said. “We are putting out a higher product now than we did 10 years ago.”
A Vision for the Future
Looking ahead, Justin is focused on continuing to uphold Ridgeline’s reputation. “We work with incredible clients and trades, and we have a very good standing with them,” he said. “That comes with responsibility to always protect that reputation. No doubt Ridgeline is going to grow, but for me, it is about what Ridgeline means. It is about building relationships and creating something people will love.”
The Reward at the End of Every Build
Justin says the most fulfilling part of his work is seeing the impact on homeowners. “My favorite part is when a client walks into their dream home and gets emotional,” he said. “It is like giving them a present that you have worked so hard on. I want them to feel like we created something special for them.”
He also offers advice for those in the field. “The field is where you learn the most. You have to be able to visualize and conceptualize, work with a lot of different people, and lead in a way that saves time and money while still delivering on expectations.”
Work With the Ridgeline Team Today
Justin’s dedication and leadership are a big part of what makes Ridgeline successful. We are proud to celebrate his 13-year milestone and the impact he continues to make every day.
