At Ridgeline Construction Group, building a custom home starts with thoughtful planning, intentional design, and craftsmanship that work together to support the homeowner’s vision.

Over the years, Ridgeline Design Studio has grown into an important part of the client journey. Led by Interior Designer Maggie Madarasz, the studio helps homeowners make informed decisions early, coordinate design with construction, and create homes that feel unified from the structural layout to the finishing details.

A Design Approach That Starts Earlier

Maggie has been part of the Ridgeline Construction Group team for more than 11 years, and during that time, both her role and the Design Studio have evolved significantly. What began primarily as construction selections and specifications has expanded into a broader interior design service that supports clients at multiple stages of building a custom home.

As Ridgeline continues to grow as a custom home builder, the Design Studio has become increasingly valuable in helping homeowners create spaces that feel connected, functional, and tailored to their lifestyle. Clients now have the opportunity to continue working with the same trusted team across additional layers of design, helping carry the vision consistently from planning through completion.

“Clients have asked me for years if I could offer interior merchandising services,” Maggie said. “After many years of allowing other designers to take my projects to the finish line, I’m ready to tackle that in addition to my previous role.”

Designing With Construction in Mind

One of the biggest advantages of Ridgeline’s in-house design team is the ability to think holistically about the home instead of separating design decisions from construction realities.

Over the years, Maggie’s involvement in projects has expanded far beyond finish selections. “I went from tile elevations and basic specifications to assisting with structural drawing layouts, coordinating with electrical plans, and drawing full-house lighting and electrical plans,” she said. “Working for a builder really makes you think differently as a designer.”

That collaboration allows the Design Studio to guide decisions much sooner, often as soon as the pre-construction agreement is signed. Early coordination gives homeowners a clearer understanding of how layouts, furnishings, lighting, and functionality work together before major construction decisions are finalized.

“It allows me to coordinate items that traditionally wouldn’t be considered during framing or MEP rough-ins,” Maggie said. “We get to think through the big picture all at once, and it allows me to be more creative and thoughtful with my designs by having more information upfront.”

This level of planning can also help avoid difficult or costly changes later on. By evaluating how spaces will actually function day to day, the team can create homes that feel intentional and well-connected from room to room.

A Natural Extension of the Ridgeline Experience

The expansion of Ridgeline Design Studio came from both client demand and the relationships formed during construction. “We develop such a relationship over the course of the project that if they are interested in the service, I feel like it only makes sense for us to carry it out,” Maggie said.

For many homeowners, continuing with the same design team from selections through furnishings and final styling creates a smoother transition between phases of the home. It also allows Ridgeline to carry out the original vision with greater consistency across every detail.

“What excites me most is seeing the whole vision come together from start to finish,” Maggie said. “I felt like I was doing clients a disservice by having them go to other designers after we had already worked so closely together throughout the build.”

Thoughtful Design Backed by Construction Knowledge

Because the Design Studio works closely alongside the construction team, every design decision is approached with both aesthetics and practicality in mind. Maggie understands how design choices can affect schedules, budgets, and field coordination, which helps identify potential challenges sooner.

“It makes you think about how decisions impact the build,” she said. “I can catch things early on and guide the team with more intelligent, accurate decisions.”

That level of collaboration is part of what sets Ridgeline apart. Clients are not simply selecting finishes. They are working with a team that understands how every detail contributes to how the home will look, function, and feel once complete.
